My health journey began in 2005. I was a fit and healthy Marine at the time... until a bomb went off beneath my vehicle while on patrol in Iraq.
The injuries I sustained were mild enough for me to continue to carry out my duties. However, I wasn't prepared for the events to follow or the impact trauma would have on my body physically and mentally years later. I was prescribed several rounds of Antibiotics that would go on to cause more damage than the explosion itself, destroying my microbiome and creating a hole in my gut that sent me to the ER.
It wasn't long after, that I developed progressively worse food sensitivities/intolerances, various digestive and skin issues, and a useless immune system. I felt like I was under attack from inflammation in every direction. When I reached out for help, the first line of treatment suggested for me was more antibiotics and pain killers. You heard it.
Unbelievable!

"I realized in that moment I would need to become my own practitioner"
A person that could integrate multiple areas of health. Someone that understood how certain foods affected my skin, my brain, and my joints. Someone that understood if I didn’t exercise, my injuries would get progressively worse and my emotional wellbeing would suffer. Someone that could identify pain caused by injury vs. pain caused by a dysfunctional gut. I needed a practitioner that could blend old wisdom with the new science; who truly listened to my story, and dug below the surface to see what was occurring on the inside.
I was dismissed because I looked healthy and given cookie-cutter protocols and pills to treat symptoms, not the root cause!
Enough was enough. After serving in the Marine Corps, I spent the next 18 years learning to optimize my health through nutrition, movement, mindset, and therapeutic exercise. I now use my diverse background to transform lives by applying a food-first, functional nutrition approach.
I've been in your shoes, I've felt lost, and now I'm in your corner!
To your success,
Charles

2. Toxicity and Nutritional Deficiencies contribute to a decline in our self-repair abilities, serving as primary factors in most chronic diseases.
